NOTICE: Sidewalks on both the US and Canadian Span of the Thousand Islands Bridge System are now open from dawn to dusk.
American Span
Pedestrians may cross the American Span of the Thousand Islands Bridge using the sidewalk on the west side of the bridge (adjacent to southbound lanes) and is only open during daylight hours unless noted on our home page.
Parking is available at the 1000 Islands Welcome Center located at the mainland end of the bridge.
The walkway is about one mile in total length and provides a scenic view upriver toward Clayton and the Rock Island lighthouse.
Walkers should proceed with appropriate caution at their own risk.
Canadian Span
Pedestrians may cross the Canadian Span of the Thousand Islands Bridge using the sidewalk on the west side of the bridge (adjacent to southbound lanes) and is only open during daylight hours unless noted on our home page.
Parking is available at the Canadian Toll Center on the North End of the Bridge and on Hill Island before crossing the Bridge.
The walkway is about is about one kilometer in total length and provides a scenic view of the St. Lawrence River and surrounding islands including the Canadian Channel.
Walkers should proceed with appropriate caution at their own risk.
